A career in hospitality and a passion for events
From my very first weekend job at 16, it's always been about hospitality.
My university years and also those that immediately followed were spent getting to know event and wedding planning in hotels.
I followed that with an incredible couple of years working for an Event Management company in Swindon, as account manager for 2 large clients. My work took me across Europe and further afield with planning and on site event management of events from 10 to 250 delegates. My knowledge and understanding grew exponentially.
A wedding and a relocation brought my husband and I to Cheltenham, where we have been for the last decade, which has gone by in the blink of an eye!
After a few years in a beautiful country events and weddings hotel, an opportunity to be part of the opening management team for the Montpellier Chapter - now the Mal Maison Cheltenham - came along and was simply too good to pass up. It was a thrilling time at an amazing venue that I will never forget.
With a young family, working for myself was the natural progression, and I love the challenges and variety it brings.
The Cotswold Event Planner
Real relationships with the best local suppliers
Cheltenham is my home.
The Cotswolds is where we spend the majority of our working and family time, and I feel very lucky to have such an abundance of excellent local businesses on our doorstep.
From unique venues, to artisan food producers, bespoke cake makers to party entertainers and an amazing range of activities, we're spoilt for choice.
As an Event Planner it is my business to know these businesses. I mean really know them - not just their product, but their people, their passion. Because that's how it works - it's about matching up clients with likeminded suppliers. That's when the magic happens.
So if you've always fancied a party with a vintage vibe, let me introduce you to a venue with a distinctly 50s feel, or the hair stylist who can treat you to the perfect Victory rolls.
Or if it's all about the food miles, let's shortlist some venues where the food doesn't travel far from gate to plate.
Take a look at my blog to get a flavour of some of the incredible venues and hidden gems the Cotswolds has to offer.
